Each painting begins without a fixed destination. Rather than illustrating an idea or reproducing a place, I work intuitively, allowing color, gesture, and layered marks to guide the process. The most meaningful moments are the ones I can't anticipate—when a brushstroke, an unexpected color relationship, or a fragment of a form suggests something I never intended. Discovery, rather than certainty, is what keeps me returning to the studio.
The finished paintings exist somewhere between memory and imagination, representation and abstraction. They are not meant to describe a single narrative or arrive at one correct interpretation. Instead, they invite viewers to slow down, bring their own experiences to the work, and find meaning through observation, curiosity, and reflection.
